According to 1 Timothy 6:15 Jesus is the King of kings. We as followers of Jesus have been called to be kings. the benefits of being a king include:
- Having authority
- Sitting on a throne
- Ruling over domains
- Exercising absolute ownership
- Making declarations
- Speaking decrees
- Reigning supreme
Kings have authority and sit on a throne. As kings our throne is established and made secure by righteousness. Kings rule over domains. God has given us dominion-absolute ownership. We are royal and have a duty to make decrees over our loved ones, businesses, our health, and every other area in our lives. A king is a supreme or absolute head of government. We are to be governing all our affairs. Jesus is the King, we are the kings.
Chosen to king
God told Samuel to anoint a new king: a new king that had been chosen by God Himself. The Lord sent Samuel to Jesse because one of his sons was the chosen king. After looking at all the sons Jesse called in, Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.” Confident that Gods word was true, Samuel asked Jesse “Are these all your children?” And Jesse answered stating there was yet one more son tending the sheep. Samuel said to Jesse “send for him and I will wait.” When the last son was brought in to Samuel, the lord said to Samuel “Arise, anoint him. For this is he.”
King David was a man after Gods own heart. David was tending the sheep when called to be anointed as king. As you keep your heart right, keep your motives pure and walk before God as David did, you too will be a king. Many are called but only a few are chosen.
Decree and declare
Make it official! A king declares his decrees. There is power in the words that a king speaks. According to Job 22:28, God said you shall decree a thing and it shall be established. “Set your words in order before me; take your stand” Job 33:
God is in the restoration business and He said in His word that He will raise up the Tabernacle of David that is fallen.
Will you stand up to be king?
